Cross-Registration for Non-CBS Students
Cross-registration generally follows one of two paths: direct registration or the appeals process.
Teachers College students who have never registered for a course outside Teachers College should get approval from their academic advisors to cross register. They will need to set up a PID via the TC registrar in order to register for courses outside Teachers College. TC students would need to be registered via the TC Registrar after the CBS cross registration team ([email protected]) confirms there is space.
CBS does not control registration appointments assigned by other schools for their students but Columbia registration appointments are typically between 9.30 am and 9.30 pm on weekdays, with the exception of public holidays. Students should check their registration appointments in Vergil. Please check drop and withdrawal deadlines: https://students.business.columbia.edu/records-registration/course-match-registration-calendar. In most cases, the drop deadline is before the second session.
Select offerings are open only to currently enrolled students at Columbia University and affiliated institutions. Depending on the course offering, there may be additional eligibility requirements, and those will be noted on the individual informational pages provided below.
Cross-registration seats are offered on a space available basis and only after all preregistration processes for CBS students are complete. Thus, students should always expect to have access to these seats much closer to published first day of class.
