Before Fall 2026
(Students who entered before the Fall 2025 class)

For semesters two(2) through four(4) only. Please note that the option to request to take 21 credits in a semester will be discontinued for students starting their program in fall 2025 and later. 

Students with a 7.0 or higher GPA will have their credits increased to 19.5. Students meeting the GPA requirement seeking to take up to 19.5 credits will not need to submit the form.

Students wishing to be considered for 21 credits should fill out the form. Please note that students with a cumulative GPA of under 7.0 will be ineligible.

Fall 2026 and onward
(Students in the MBA Class of 2027 and later)

For the MBA class of 2027 and beyond, students can take a maximum of 18 credits per semester, and a maximum of 66 total credits during their time in the MBA program. The 18 credits can be spread out through the duration of the semester, including block weeks, A term, B term and full-semester courses. 

Registration for independent studies takes place during A term course add/drop period only. Please visit the registration calendar.

Students are not permitted to have a course deleted from their academic record after the add/drop deadline. If a student withdraws from a course after the drop deadline, the transcript will show a mark of "W" for that course. This is a permanent mark, and will remain on the transcript even if the student repeats the course. This grade will not be factored into your GPA, nor will receive any credits. Students cannot withdraw from a course after the date noted on the Registration Calendar.

Please complete this form to withdraw from a course during the withdrawal period of the semester. These dates can be found on course match registration calendar page.

Please note that you will be unable to use the form for block week courses. To withdraw from a block week course, please email [email protected].

Students on F1 or J1 Visas may be eligible for work authorization during their program. Review this page for details.

Note: Your application must be submitted at least 10 business days before your start date. Please review ISSO CPT employer letter requirements.

CPT Dates:

• Spring Term: January 1st till May 20th (Commencement Day), 2026
• Summer Term: May 18th (Monday of commencement week) till September 7th (Labor Day), 2026
• Fall Term: September 8th (Day after Labor Day)till December 31st, 2026 (Last day of calendar year)
