F-1 Curricular Practical Training (CPT)
Information regarding F-1 Curricular Practical Training (CPT), including eligibility, authorization requirements, and application processes, is maintained by the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) and can be found on the ISSO CPT webpage.
F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT)
Employment related to your field of study immediately after completion of your studies, authorized by USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) through the issuance of an EAD card (Employment Authorization Document). OPT is permitted for a period of up to a maximum of twelve months.

J-1 Academic Training (AT)
AT allows J-1 students to apply knowledge from their program through paid or unpaid work.
OARR can provide you with the academic training letter of recommendation that you will need to submit to ISSO. Everything else that you need for your application is listed on the ISSO Academic Training website.
Once you have gathered all of the information, please email OARR to request your academic training letter of recommendation.
