FAQs

What is the Iris Booth?

The Iris Booth is a self-service professional photo booth that is simple and intuitive to use. On-screen prompts guide you through each step, allowing you to capture high-quality professional headshots in just a few minutes.

Most sessions take less than three minutes and include three photos, with the option to retake one image. The Iris Booth is a complimentary Career Management Center (CMC) resource, and there is no limit to the number of times Columbia Business School students and alumni may use it.

Who can use the Iris Booth, and where is it located?

The Iris Booth is available to all Columbia Business School students and alumni.

It is located inside the Career Management Center on the 7th floor of Geffen Hall. Please visit the CMC during regular business hours and sign in at reception before using the booth.

Do I need to make an appointment, and when can I use the Iris Booth?

No. The Iris Booth is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so you can stop by and use it whenever it is available.

The booth is open during CMC business hours:

Monday–Friday
9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

What should I wear for my headshot?

Choose attire that reflects your professional goals and personal brand. Consider how you would present yourself in a professional setting, such as a job interview, networking event, or coffee chat.

Most students choose business professional or business casual attire. Since only the upper half of your body will be visible, focus on clothing that presents well from the waist up.

Can I edit my photos, and when will I receive them?

Yes. After completing your session, you can enhance your photos using the Iris Booth's AI-powered editing suite. Available tools include blemish removal, skin smoothing, teeth whitening, and other subtle enhancements. We encourage users to make edits that maintain a professional and authentic representation of themselves.

Your photos will be delivered to your email immediately after your session.

Who can I contact if I have questions?

If you have additional questions about the Iris Booth, please contact the Career Management Center at [email protected].
